Srimad Bhagavatam is a revered scripture in Vaisnavism. The text consists of twelve books (skandhas) totalling 332 chapters (adhyayas). The tenth book or skandhas is the heart of Bhagavatam that narrates the Vrindavan or Brij Leela, Mathura Leela and Dwarika Leela. And in this the gopi bhav has been the accredited the highest status as it is the purest form of love for the Lord. The Raas Leela chapters starting from 29 â 33 chapters captures the sentiments of the gopis in five poems namely Benu Geet (chapter 21), Pranay Geet (chapter 29), Gopi Geet ( chapter 31), Jugal Geet (chapter 35) and Bhramar Geet (chapter 47).
