Nirguna Trust

What we do?

1. Reviving Lost Weaves, Arts and Crafts

By helping weavers and artisans all across the country, Nirguna has helped preserve some dying art forms across the country. The trust documents the work that the artisans do in video format that helps spread awareness. Nirguna takes pride in being instrumental for the revival of Dhalapathara Sarees of Odisha Handloom, a saree that was lost almost a century ago.

2. Preserving Cultures

A. Promotion of local culture and traditions through events, talk shows etc

One of the key pillars of the Nirguna Mission is the promotion of local culture and traditions through various platforms such as events and talk shows. We believe that celebrating and showcasing the unique customs, rituals, arts, and languages of rural communities is essential for preserving their cultural identity and heritage.

In addition, talk shows and interactive sessions provide a forum for discussing and learning about different aspects of local culture

B. Documentation of rural traditions, culture and livelihoods!

Nirguna Mission's efforts to preserve and promote local heritage. This involves systematically recording, archiving, and documenting various aspects of rural life, including traditional practices, cultural rituals, indigenous knowledge, and livelihood activities.

Through meticulous documentation, we aim to create a comprehensive repository of rural culture that can serve as a valuable resource for future generations.

3. Community Development

Nirguna empowers communities by helping them sustain themselves economically, fostering self reliance and collaboration.

Through our integrated approach to community development, Nirguna seeks to empower rural communities to realize their full potential and improve their quality of life in a sustainable and equitable manner.
