Bhujodi gets the name from its place of origin. The Bhujodi saree is made in the traditional extra weft technique in manually operated looms. Bhujodi is a small town in the Kutch region of Gujarat, India. Originally, the Rabari community of the Kutch region used to weave shawls that have now been converted into sarees.There may be unevenness in the selvage and the weave. There may be a loose thread on the back side of the saree. These are the signs of a handloom, handwoven saree.

Description

Bhujodi is a small town in Kutch region of Gujarat, India. Originally, the Rabari community of Kutch region used to weave shawls that has now been converted into sarees. This community uses the traditional extra weft technique on the manually operated looms. Kala cotton is the organic cotton that is grown locally and has an earthy feeling and gives a raw look to the drape.
